You can watch TikTok without internet by using TikTok’s Offline Videos feature. Open TikTok, go to Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy, find Offline Videos, choose how many videos you want to download, and save them while you still have Wi-Fi or mobile data. You can then watch those downloaded videos later without an internet connection.
This is especially useful on flights, trains or anywhere with poor signal.
How to watch TikTok offline
Open TikTok and go to:
Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy
Then look for Offline Videos.
TikTok can move settings around, so the exact section may vary depending on your app version, device and region. If you see Offline Videos, open it and choose how many videos you want to download.
TikTok offers to download 60, 120, 240 or 480 videos and that equals to up to 240 minutes watch time. Download the option you like before you lose your internet connection.
Can you watch TikTok on a plane without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Download the videos before your flight while you are connected to Wi-Fi. Once you switch your phone to Airplane Mode, open TikTok and watch the videos that were saved in advance.
Can you choose which TikToks are downloaded?
Not exactly. TikTok downloads a selection of videos for offline viewing rather than letting you choose every single video yourself. Think of it as a small offline version of your For You feed.
If there is one specific TikTok you want to keep, you may also be able to save that video directly to your phone if the creator allows downloads.
Can you comment or use TikTok normally offline?
No. You can watch the videos that were already downloaded, but features that need an internet connection will not work normally. You will not be able to refresh your For You feed or load new videos until you reconnect.
Does watching TikTok offline use mobile data?
No, not while you are watching videos that are already downloaded. The download itself does use data, so it is better to save the videos while you are connected to Wi-Fi.
Why can’t I find Offline Videos on TikTok?
If you cannot see Offline Videos in your TikTok settings, the feature may not be available on your account. Availability can vary by app version, device, region and account. Try updating TikTok and checking again.
